2025 -2026 Season Auditions
The Marriage of Figaro: Deadline January 9, 2026
Please note that we give preference to singers/directors residing in metro-Detroit or Southeastern Michigan areas.
Principal Singers: Please submit two (2) pre-screening videos of opera arias of contrasting style accompanied by a pianist. Please do not submit acapella recordings, recordings with track, or recordings with orchestra. If invited to an in-person audition, you will be asked to provide four opera arias. One of the selections must be in English and another must be composed by Mozart. You may elect to present up to one oratorio aria instead of up to one opera aria.
Stage Directors: Please submit samples of your artistic portfolio, which may include pictures, videos, set designs, production presentations, etc.
Chorus: Please submit at least one (1) video of a classical vocal selection. Recordings may be accompanied by a live pianist, a pre-recorded track or performed acapella. An English selection is preferred, but not required. Chorus applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
Concours de Voix Competition: Deadline January 21, 2026
High School Division: Please submit one (1) prescreening video of art song or aria. Finalists will be asked for a minimum of two (2) selections, one in a foreign language. Please view the application form for more information. $25 application fee.
Emerging Artist Division: Please submit two (2) prescreening videos of opera arias. Finalists will be asked for five (5) selections, including at least one aria in English and at least one aria in a foreign language. Please view the application form for more information. $40 application fee.
