
Madeleine Krick, Founder & Artistic Director
Madeleine Krick is an emerging conductor from Detroit, noted for her clarity of gesture and collaborative energy. She holds a B.M. from Oakland University, where she studied voice with Dr. Edith Diggory and conducting with Dr. Michael Mitchell and Dr. Gregory Cunningham.
Krick is the founder and Artistic Director of Opera de Metro, whose first season included The Gift of the Magi (Dec. 2024) and The Magic Flute (May 2025). She was Assistant Conductor of L’Elisir d’Amore with Opera Neo for the 2025 summer festival season, and joined Stoney Creek Theatre in April 2025 to conduct Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812. Krick was a conducting fellow with L’Institut Canadien d’Art Vocal in July 2024, assisting with a French-language presentation of Die Fledermaus, and she acted as Program Assistant for the 2023-2024 Detroit Concert Choir Connoisseur Series, conducting Donizetti’s Il campanello. She has also been engaged as a cover conductor for Macomb Symphony Orchestra under the mentorship of Dr. Andrew Neer. Krick serves as music director at St. Jane Frances de Chantal in Sterling Heights, MI, and she maintains a private voice studio.
